The news Paul handed on — and the answer they were given.

The Good News

This is not a technique. It is the news Paul said he handed on, then the answer the first hearers were given when they asked what to do.

“For I also received first of all what I also passed on to you—that Messiah died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” — 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (TLV)

The response

1. Hear it as true

You are not a small problem. All have sinned. The gift is not a wage.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23 (TLV)

“For sin’s payment is death, but God’s gracious gift is eternal life in Messiah Yeshua our Lord.” — Romans 6:23 (TLV)

2. Turn

Repentance is not a mood. It is a change of mind that changes direction — away from sin, toward God.

“Repent, and let each of you be immersed in the name of Messiah Yeshua for the removal of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Ruach ha-Kodesh.” — Acts 2:38 (TLV)

3. Trust Him — call on His name

You do not need a memorized prayer. You do need Jesus (Yeshua). Confess Jesus as Lord. Believe God raised him. He does not grade a recitation.

“For if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9 (TLV)

For “Everyone who calls upon the name of Adonai shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13 (TLV)

They said, “Believe in the Lord Yeshua, and you will be saved—you and your household!” — Acts 16:31 (TLV)
