Ontology (Greek: ὄν / ὄντος, on / ontos — “being” + λόγος; later ontologia; pronounced on-to-lo-GEE-ah).
It is the inventory. What will you admit exists — and what are you treating as real while denying the name?
On this site ontology is the foundation — what you will admit exists. God, souls, numbers, nations, angels, the Accuser: each is either named or smuggled. A list that will not admit the kind of thing the Cornerstone is cannot later “prove” Him with a tight syllogism. The list already forbade it.
Metaphysics names the kind of world. Ontology lists the furniture. Do not swap the jobs.
