Axiology (Greek: ἄξιος, axios — “worthy, of weight” + λόγος; the later compound axiologia; pronounced aks-ee-OL-uh-jee).
It is the study of value: what is worthy, and why. On this site it is the brief — what you prize, and why the work exists. It floats. It is not a numbered step.
A valid argument can still serve a cheap prize. Logic will tell you whether the form holds. Axiology names what you hired the work to keep.
The Trial assays that brief. Weather does not care what you prize. The Adversary does.
